Abstract
In order to obtain a reliable idea of the state of tightness for tightness testing of containers filled with liquids in which a pressure differential .DELTA.p is created between the interior of the container and its exterior, and also relative to the container wall in contact with the filling, an impedance measurement (7) is performed using measuring electrodes (3a, 3b) on the exterior of container (1).
Claims24
A method for tightness testing of at least one closed receptacle containing a liquid filling-content, comprising the steps of:
- snugly enclosing said receptacle by the wall-surface of a sealingly closable test chamber;
- providing said wall-surface of said chamber of electrically conducting and of electrically isolating surface areas;
- and
- evacuating said test chamber and measuring electric impedance between pairs of said electrically conducting surface areas as leakage indication.
A test chamber for tightness testing of closed containers of predetermined shape and containing a filling with liquid content, said test chamber being sealingly closable and
- defining for an interior cavity with a surface shaped substantially as a negative form of said at least one receptacle,
- said surface being subdivided in electrically conductive areas and electrically isolating areas,
- electrical tabs at the outside of said test chamber connected to said electrically conductive areas.
