Disclosed are novel peptides that modulate inflammatory heart disease. Also disclosed are DNA molecules encoding the peptides, and methods of making the peptides.

A peptide selected from the group consisting of:
- SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:4, SEQ ID NO:5, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:7, SEQ ID NO:8, SEQ ID NO:9, and SEQ ID NO:16.
A peptide selected from the group consisting of:
- SEQ ID NO:3 and SEQ ID NO:15.
A vaccine to decrease inflammatory cardiomyopathy comprising a peptide, an adjuvant, and an excipient, wherein the peptide consists of any of SEQ ID NOS;
- 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, or 16.
