A pharmaceutical composition comprising idebenone in combination with a compound having acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity is useful for treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease.

A pharmaceutical composition which comprises syneraistically effective amounts of idebenone in combination with a compound having acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity.
A method for treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease in a mammal in need thereof, which comprises administering to such mammal synergistically effective amounts of idebenones in combination with a compound having acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity.
