The present invention provides a bacterial microorganism of the Rhodococcus or Nocardia species having the ability to degrade zearalenone.

An isolated and biologically pure bacterium having the ability to degrade zearalenone wherein said bacterium is of the Rhodococcus species or the Nocardia species.
