Abstract
An ink jet recording material having one or more ink receiving layers formed on a substrate and capable of recording clear ink images with a satisfactory gloss, a high color density and an enhanced water resistance is provided with at least one ink receiving layer containing agglomerate pigment particles pulverized in a cationic resin-containing liquid and having an average particle size of 1 .mu.m or less.
Claims4
A method of producing an ink jet recording material having one or more ink recording layers on a substrate, wherein at least one of the ink receiving layers is formed by coating a casting surface with a coating film layer comprising pigment particles prepared by pulverize-dispersing agglomerate pigment particles in a cationic resin-containing liquid to an extent such that the average particle size of the pulverize-dispersed pigment particles reaches 1 .mu.m or less;
- and transferring the coating film layer to a surface of the substrate or, when the substrate surface is coated with an other ink receiving layer, to the surface of the other ink receiving layer.
