Abstract
A heterogeneous ion exchange membrane comprising an ion exchange resin and a binder polymer, wherein the binder polymer is a polymer containing at least a mixture comprising low density polyethylene and ethylene-propylene rubber or ethylene-propylene-diene rubber.
Claims10
A heterogeneous ion exchange membrane comprising an ion exchange resin and a polymeric binder, wherein the binder is a mixture comprising low density polyethylene and from 10 to 50 wt % of rubber, wherein the rubber is at least one selected from the group consisting of ethylene-propylene rubber and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber.
A process for producing a heterogeneous ion exchange membrane, which comprises preparing a mixture of solid particles comprising an ion exchange resin and a polymeric binder wherein the binder is a mixture comprising low density polyethylene and from 10 to 50 wt % of rubber, wherein the rubber is at least one selected from the group consisting of ethylene-propylene rubber and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber, melt-molding the mixture of solid particles to obtain a membrane product.
