Novel polyene antibiotics, 3874 H1 to H6, processes for their preparation and use which are suitable for treating fungal diseases, trichomonad diseases, and for treating diseases associated with an increased steroid concentration.

A compound 3874 H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 or H6 with the following formula
- 3874 H1, molecular formula:
- C.sub.58 H.sub.86 N.sub.2 O.sub.18, MW 1099.3, ##STR4## 3874 H2, molecular formula:
- C.sub.59 H.sub.88 N.sub.2 O.sub.18, MW 1113.3, ##STR5## 3874H3, molecular formula:
- C.sub.57 H.sub.87 NO.sub.18, MW 1074.3, ##STR6## or physiologically tolerated salts thereof or chemical equivalents thereof.
