Abstract
The present invention relates to immunogenic complexes of heat shock proteins (hsp) noncovalently bound to exogenous antigenic molecules which when administered to an individual elicit specific immunological responses in the host. Methods of prevention and treatment of cancer and infectious disease are provided.
Claims11
A method of treating an individual having a type of cancer comprising administering to the individual a therapeutically effective amount of a complex of a heat shock protein noncovalently bound to an antigenic molecule, wherein the complex is made in vitro, wherein the antigenic molecule is a peptide or a protein having an antigenic determinant of said type of cancer, and wherein the antigenic molecule is not isolated from a hsp-peptide complex from within a cell.
