Abstract
The present invention relates to an at least single-layer, tubular, biaxially stretched, biodegradable and compostable food casing, in particular a sausage casing, at least one layer consisting substantially of a thermoplastically processable, biodegradable polymer.

Tubular, biaxially stretched, biodegradable and compostable food casing, having at least one layer, wherein said at least one layer consists essentially of an extrusion processable, biodegradable polymer which includes a member of the group consisting of aliphatic polyesters partly aromatic polyesters, and aliphatic-aromatic polyester carbonates.
Tubular, biaxially stretched, biodegradable and compostable food casing, having at least one layer, wherein said at least one layer consists essentially of an extrusion processable, biodegradable aliphatic polyesteramide and optionally processing agents and additives.
