Abstract
A method for the treatment of cancer in mammals. A subject afflicted with cancer receives by oral administration a pH modified citrus pectin which inhibits metastasis of primary tumors.
Claims31
A method for the therapeutic treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer a therapeutically effective amount of modified pectin.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer a therapeutically effective amount of modified pectin having an apparent average molecular weight of about 1 to about 15 kd.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer a therapeutically effective amount of modified pectin which binds to tumor cell surface carbohydrate binding proteins.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer a therapeutically effective amount of modified pectin capable of binding to the carbohydrate domain of galectin-3.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer a therapeutically effective amount of substantially demethoxylated polygalacturonic acid, said substantially demethoxylated polygalacturonic acid being interrupted with rhamnose residues.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer an amount of modified pectin having an apparent average molecular weight of about 1 to about 15 kd effective to reduce metastasis formation.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer an amount of substantially demethoxylated polygalacturonic acid effective to reduce metastasis formation, said substantially demethoxylated polygalacturonic acid being interrupted with rhamnose residues.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer an amount of modified pectin which binds to tumor cell surface carbohydrate binding proteins effective to reduce metastasis formation.
A method for treatment of cancer in mammals comprising orally administering to a mammal afflicted with cancer an amount of modified pectin capable of binding to the carbohydrate domain of galectin-3 effective to reduce metastasis formation.
