Abstract
A bisazo dye of Formula (1) and salts thereof: ##STR1## wherein: R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently is H, optionally substituted C.sub.1-4 -alkyl or optionally substituted aryl; R.sub.3 is --NH.sub.2 ; R.sub.4 is OC.sub.1-4 -alkyl; each R.sub.5 independently is --COOH or --SO.sub.3 H; and n is 1,2, or 3. Also claimed are inks containing the dye, a process of ink jet printing using the inks and substrates coloured by the inks.
Claims14
A bisazo dye of Formula (1) and salts thereof:
- ##STR17## wherein:
- one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is H and the other is substituted C.sub.1-4 -alkyl or substituted aryl wherein said substituent(s) are selected from the group consisting of N(C.sub.1-4 -alkyl).sub.2, NHC.sub.1-4 -alkyleneOH, NHC.sub.1-4 -alkyl and ##STR18## and R.sub.3 is --NH.sub.2 ;
- R.sub.4 is OC.sub.1-4 -alkyl;
- each R.sub.5 independently is --COOH or --SO.sub.3 H;
- and
- n is 1,2 or 3.
