Abstract
Basic zirconium carboxylates of branched chain aliphatic monocarboxylic acids having 5 to 10 carbon atoms are disclosed. The carboxylates may be used, inter alia, as driers for paints and inks.
Claims16
A basic zirconium carboxylate in solution in, or in admixture with, an organic liquid, the carboxylate groups in the basic zirconium carboxylate consisting essentially of groups derivable from at least one branched chain aliphatic monocarboxylic acid which has 5 to 10 carbon atoms and in which any branching group(s) on the .alpha.-carbon atom contain(s) at most one carbon atom, and the proportion of zirconium being more than 12% by weight, based on the weight of the basic zirconium carboxylate and the liquid.
