Abstract
An inbred corn line designated AR5252bm3 is disclosed. AR5252bm3 is useful for producing F.sub.1 hybrid corn seed and plants therefrom. Such corn plants exhibit the brown midrib phenotype and yield a silage that, when fed to dairy cattle, increases milk production.
Claims6
Inbred corn seed designated AR 5252bm3 and having ATCC accession number 209624.
Hybrid corn seed produced from plants of a first inbred corn line, designated AR5252bm3 and having ATCC accession number 209624, and plants of a second inbred line that is homozygous for bm3.
An F.sub.1 hybrid corn plant produced by:
- (a) planting and growing seeds of a first corn inbred line designated AR5252bm3, and represented by seed having ATCC accession number 209624, said seeds planted in pollinating proximity to seeds of a second inbred line that is homozygous for bm3;
- (b) preventing pollen production on plants resulting from either said first or said second inbred line seeds;
- (c) allowing cross pollination to occur between said plants of said inbred lines;
- (d) harvesting seeds produced on said plants of step (b);
- and
- (e) growing at least one harvested seed of step (d).
