Abstract
The use of 4-tert-butyl-1-cyclohexanol as an antioxidant in soaps, shampoos and other cosmetic products, as well as in all-purpose cleaners, is described.
Claims4
A composition comprising a cosmetic, cleansing or perfuming ingredient of an oxidizable fat material that is subject to oxidation by air, light, or both air and light;
- 4-tert-butyl-1-cyclohexanol in an amount effective to act as an antioxidant for the oxidizable fat material of the composition;
- and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of .alpha.-tocopherol, .gamma.-tocopherol, ascorbic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid and esters thereof, in an amount effective to act as a further antioxidant for the oxidizable fat material of the composition, wherein the composition is substantially free of oxidizing agents.
