Abstract
Method and apparatus for providing control or elimination of non-microbial enzymatic staining in lumber sapwood. Stain resistant lumber obtained by application of mechanical force.
Claims8
Lumber which is resistant to non-microbial enzymatic staining, said lumber having been treated when it is green, by the application of mechanical force for a time and at a pressure sufficient to reduce or eliminate said non-microbial staining and wherein said lumber is free from chemical agents used to prevent said non-microbial enzymatic staining.
