Abstract
An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a conductive substrate having thereon a photosensitive layer, the photosensitive layer containing a hydroxymetal or hydroxysilicon phthalocyanine pigment represented by formula (I) as a charge generating material, the phthalocyanine pigment having been treated with an orcanometallic compound having a hydrolyzable functional group or a hydrolysis product thereof: ##STR1## wherein Me represents A, Ga, In, Si, Ge or Sn; X representsH, C, Br or I; m represents an integer of from I to 4; and n represents 1 where Me is A, Ga or In, or 2 where Me is Si, Ge or Sn.
Claims17
A pigment for electrophotographic photoreceptors comprising a hydroxymetal or hydroxysilicon phthalocyanine compound coated with a polymer or an oligomer of an organometallic compound having a hydrolyzable functional group or a hydrolysis product thereof.
A pigment for electrophotographic photoreceptors comprising a hydroxymetal or hydroxysilicon phthalocyanine compound chemically bonded to a hydrolyzable functional group of an organometallic compound containing a metal atom through a coupling reaction in which at least a hydrogen of a hydroxy group of the phthalocyanine compound is removed.
The pigment as claimed in claimed 8, wherein said organometallic compound is bonded to said phthalocyanine compound to form a compound represented by formula (III):
- ##STR8## wherein Me represents Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge or Sn;
- X represents H, Cl, Br or I;
- m represents an integer of from 1 to 4;
- n represents 1 where Me is Al, Ga or In, or 2 where Me is Si, Ge or Sn;
- Me' represents a metal;
- Z' represents oxygen or a residual group of said hydrolyzable functional group;
- each Y' of (Y').sub.q-1 represents oxygen or a residual group of a hydrolyzable functional group bonded to (1) a central metal or silicon of said phthalocyanine compound, (2) a central metal or silicon of one other of said phthalocyanine compound or (3) a metal of one other of said organometallic compound;
- R represents an organic group;
- and p and q each represent an integer of from 1 to 4, with the sum of them corresponding to the valence of Me'.
A pigment for electrophotographic photoreceptors comprising a phthalocyanine compound represented by formula (III):
- ##STR9## wherein Me represents Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge or Sn;
- X represents H, Cl, Br or I;
