The invention relates to a device for the distraction of at least two bone segments, with mountings which are displaceable relative to each other, for the distraction of bone segments in the jaw, face and skull region, in which the mounting (11) has an at least geometrical and at least essentially linear longitudinal axis (12), along which two complementary halves (13, 14) are adjustably movable by an adjustment device (41, 43, 16, 18; 82), and indeed with an increase of their mutual distance (63); the mounting (11) is essentially longer than it is wide, the halves are guided for longitudinal movement on each other by a guide (17, 31) which is secured against twisting, on each half (13, 14), at least one flat fixing device (23, 51) is provided, which can be fixed to the bone (56, 57) and which can take up thrust forces and torques, the adjusting device (41, 43, 16, 18; 82) is accessible at one place (36) for an adjusting member (42), which is essentially directed towards a bodily orifice, and outside the end region (34), a tool seat (87) is provided on the guide section (83).
