Abstract
Azeotropic compositions made up of from about 60 to about 78% by weight of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and from about 22 to about 40% by weight of tetramethylsilane have been found to be particularly useful as blowing agents for the production of polyurethane foams.
Claims7
A process for the production of a polyurethane foam comprising reacting a polyisocyanate with an isocyanate-reactive material in the presence of an azeotropic composition consisting essentially of
- (a) from about 60 to about 78% by weight of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and
- (b) from about 22 to about 40% by weight of tetramethylsilane.
A polyurethane foam which has been produced by reacting a polyisocyanate with an isocyanate reactive material in the presence of an azeotropic composition consisting essentially of
- (a) from about 60 to about 78% by weight of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and
- (b) from about 22 to about 40% by weight of tetramethylsilane.
A polyurethane foam which has been produced by reacting a polyisocyanate with an isocyanate reactive material in the presence of an azeotropic composition consisting essentially of
- (a) from about 65 to about 74% by weight of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and
- (b) from about 26 to about 35% by weight of tetramethylsilane.
A polyurethane foam which has been produced by reacting a polyisocyanate with an isocyanate reactive material in the presence of an azeotropic composition consisting essentially of
- (a) about 70% by weight of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and
- (b) about 30% by weight of tetramethylsilane.
