Abstract
An antihypertensive agent containing an effective amount of dipeptide Tyr-Pro and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, the effective amount being from 0.05 to 10 mg/kg body weight/day, and a method for producing the same.

A method for preparing an antihypertensive agent containing an effective amount of peptides selected from the group consisting of a dipeptide Tyr-Pro, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the dipeptide Tyr-Pro, and mixtures thereof, wherein the method comprises culturing lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus in a medium containing a peptide and/or protein comprising an amino acid sequence Tyr-Pro, to obtain a cultured liquid containing the dipeptide Tyr-Pro, wherein said effective amount of peptide ranges from 0.05 to 10 mg/kg body weight/day.
