Abstract
A processing method of a silver halide photographic material comprising a support having on at least one side of the support hydrophilic colloid layers including a silver halide emulsion layer is disclosed, in which the silver halide emulsion layer contains tabular silver halide grains having an average chloride content of 20 mol % or more and an aspect ratio of 2 or more; and a coating weight ratio of silver to gelatin of said hydrophilic colloid layers is 0.6 or more; the photographic material being developed in the presence of a compound represented by the following formula (I) or (II): ##STR1##
Claims6
A method for processing a silver halide light sensitive photographic material comprising a support having on at least one side of the support hydrophilic colloid layers including a silver halide emulsion layer, comprising
- exposing the photographic material and
- developing the exposed photographic material with a developer
- wherein said silver halide emulsion layer contains tabular silver halide grains having an average chloride content of 20 mol % or more and an aspect ratio of 2 or more;
- and a coating weight ratio of silver to gelatin of said hydrophilic colloid layers is 0.6 or more;
- said photographic material being developed in the presence of a compound represented by the following formula (I) or (II):
- ##STR14## wherein B represents a hydrogen atom, OH of CH.sub.2 COOM;
- when B is a hydrogen atom, A.sub.1 through A.sub.9 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, OH, C.sub.n H.sub.2n+ or (CH.sub.2).sub.m X, in which n is an integer of 1 to 3, m is an integer of 0 to 3 and X represents COOM, NH.sub.2 or OH, n.sub.1, and n.sub.2 are each 1, n.sub.3 and n.sub.4 are each an integer and n.sub.3 plus n.sub.4 is 1 to 4 provided that all of A.sub.1 to A.sub.5 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time;
- when B is OH or CH.sub.2 COOM, n.sub.1 and n.sub.2 are each an integer including 0 and n.sub.1 plus n.sub.2 is 2, n.sub.3 is 0 and n.sub.4 is 1, A.sub.1, A.sub.8 and A.sub.9 each represent a hydrogen atom, A.sub.2 to A.sub.5 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, OH, COOM, PO.sub.3 (M).sub.2, CH.sub.2 COOM, CH.sub.2 OH or an a lower alkyl group, provided that at least one of A.sub.2 to A.sub.5 represents CH.sub.2 COOM, COOM or PO.sub.3 (M).sub.2 ;
- M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or an ammonium group, ##STR15## wherein A.sub.1 through A.sub.4 each independently represent COOM or OH;
- n.sub.1 through n.sub.4 each represent an integer of 0 to 2;
- R.sub.1 through R.sub.4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, OH or a lower alkyl group;
- X represents an alkylene group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or --(B.sub.1 O).sub.m --B.sub.2 --, in which B.sub.1 and B.sub.2 each represent an alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and m is an integer of 1 to 5;
- M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or an ammonium group.
