Abstract
Tablets of increased strength are manufactured by combining and compressing a meltable binder, excipients and a pharmaceutically active agent into a tablet, melting the binder in the tablet, and then solidifying the binder.
Claims7
A tablet of increased strength made according to a method for the preparation thereof which comprises the steps of
- (a) combining and compressing a water soluble meltable binder, at least one excipient and a pharmaceutically active agent into a tablet wherein said pharmaceutically active agent is fluconazole, piroxicam, tenidap or doxylamine succinate,
- (b) melting said binder in said tablet, and
- (c) solidifying said binder.
