Abstract
Compounds of formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is H or SO.sub.3 M, ##STR2## M is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation and X.sup.+ is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation, are useful as dyes for oxidized aluminium substrates.

A compound according to the formula (I) ##STR17## wherein R.sub.1 is H or SO.sub.3 M,
- R.sub.2 is ##STR18## M is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation and X.sup.+ is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation.
