Abstract
Nefazodone and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts are useful in alleviation of post traumatic stress disorder.

A method for alleviation of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which comprises administering a non-toxic therapeutically effective dose of nefazodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof to a patient in need of such treatment.
