Abstract
The present invention provides for vectors carrying a cDNA containing the entire coding region of the human multidrug resistance gene (MDR1) and for a method for introducing MDR1 cDNA into cells thereby inducing a multidrug resistant phenotype.
Claims8
A vector comprising a full-length human MDR1 cDNA that expresses a functional human P-glycoprotein in a mammalian host cell wherein expression of said functional human P-glycoprotein renders said host cell multidrug resistant.
A positive selectable marker encoded by a nucleic acid that is a human MDR1 cDNA.
