Abstract
Substituted pyridyl imidazole derivatives of formula (I) inhibit effectively the action of angiotensin II and have a superior anti-hypertensive activity. ##STR1##
Claims10
A pyridyl imidazole compound, and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, of formula(I):
- ##STR25## wherein:
- A is a straight, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group, or OR.sub.1, or NR.sub.2 R.sub.3 wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently a hydrogen, or a straight, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group;
- B is a hydrogen, or a straight, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group;
- D is a hydrogen, a halogen, or a straight, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group, or ##STR26## wherein Z is a hydrogen, or R.sub.1, NO.sub.2, (CH.sub.2).sub.p OR.sub.5, (CH.sub.2).sub.p NR.sub.2 R.sub.3 or a halogen, n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 3, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are the same as defined above, p is 0 or an integer of 1 to 3, and R.sub.5 is a hydrogen, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group or a phenyl group substituted with a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- and W is ##STR27## wherein X and Y are independently O or S, m is an integer of 1 to 4, n is the same as defined above and R.sub.4 is a straight, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group.
