A (2-cyanoacetamido)phenyl acrylate monomer is disclosed. It is used to make polymers. The polymers are useful for making toners for electrostatographic developers.

An electrostatographic developer containing toner particles comprising a polymer having from 0.1 to 100 weight percent of (2-cyanoacetamido)phenyl acrylate repeating units.
