Abstract
A ceramic composite panel comprising, a pair of skins disposed in spaced relationship to one another and, a ceramic foam disposed between the pair of skins is disclosed. The pair of skin comprises fibers disposed in a pre-ceramic resin in its ceramic state. The foam comprises a cured mixture of a pre-ceramic resin and a phenolic resin.
Claims11
A ceramic composite panel comprising:
- a) a pair of fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite skins disposed in spaced relationship to one another, said pair of skins made of reinforcing fibers disposed throughout a pre-ceramic resin in a ceramic state;
- and,
- b) a ceramic foam made of a cured mixture of a pre-ceramic resin and a phenolic resin disposed between said pair of skins and bonded to respective facing surfaces of said pair of skins.
A ceramic composite panel comprising:
- a) a pair of skins disposed in spaced relationship to one another, said pair of skins comprising reinforcing fibers disposed throughout a pre-ceramic resin in a ceramic state:
- and
- b) a ceramic foam disposed between said pair of skins, said ceramic foam comprising a cured mixture of a pre-ceramic resin and a phenolic resin.
