Carbamoyloxlabdanes

A process for the preparation of a compound of the formula

• wherein R.sub.13 is hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, or a group of the formula HOCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 ;
• R.sub.14 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, alkoxy, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkanoyl alkanoylalkyl, a group of the formula ##STR39## wherein s is 1 or 2, of the formula ##STR40## a group of the formula ##STR41## a group of the formula HOCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2, a group of the formula (CH.sub.2).sub.t NR.sub.21 R.sub.22 wherein R.sub.21 and R.sub.22 are independently alkyl and t is 0, or 2 to 6, or R.sub.21 and R.sub.22 taken together with the nitrogen atom to which are attached form a group of the formula ##STR42## wherein X is O, S, or a group of the formula NR.sub.19 wherein R.sub.19 is loweralkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a group of the formula CHR.sub.4 wherein R.sub.4 is hydrogen, loweralkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or a group of the formula OR.sub.5 wherein R.sub.5 is hydrogen, loweralkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a group of the formula ##STR43## wherein R.sub.10 is loweralkyl, and n is 0 or 1, a group of the formula OR.sub.23 wherein R.sub.23 is hydrogen, alkyl, a group of the formula (CH.sub.2).sub.t' NR.sub.21 R.sub.22 wherein t', R.sub.21 and R.sub.22 are as above, a group of the formula ##STR44## wherein R.sub.24 is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkanoylalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylamino, dialkylamino, a group of the formula ##STR45## wherein s is as above, a group of the formula ##STR46## a group of the formula (CH.sub.2).sub.t' NR.sub.21 R.sub.22 wherein R.sub.21 and R.sub.22 are as above and t' is 2 to 6, a group of the formula ##STR47## wherein X and n are as above, a group of the formula (CH.sub.2).sub.u N(R.sub.25)COR.sub.26' wherein u is 1, 2 or 3 and R.sub.25 and R.sub.26' are independently hydrogen or loweralkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a group of the formula ##STR48## wherein R.sub.27 and R.sub.28 are loweralkyl or 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which comprises contacting a compound of the formula:
• ##STR49## wherein R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 are each independently loweralkyl or R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a group of the formula ##STR50## wherein X and n are as above, and R.sub.13 and R.sub.14 are as above, with an aqueous alkanol or alkanoic acid or a mineral acid in the presence of an alkanol.
