Abstract
Improved dental flosses are provided, including multicomponent coextruded filaments and/or filaments having a multilobal cross-section. Some preferred flosses of the invention are capable of bulking.
Claims9
A method of flossing the teeth of a mammal, comprising:
- inserting between the two teeth of a mammal a length of dental floss comprising a plurality of multicomponent coextruded filaments,
- wherein at least one of the components of said multicomponent filaments comprises a thermoplastic elastomer.
A method of flossing the teeth of a mammal, comprising:
- inserting between two teeth of a mammal a length of dental floss comprising a plurality of multicomponent coextruded filaments having a side-by-side, hollow pie, tipped multilobal or pie radial cross-section.
A method flossing the teeth of a mammal, comprising:
- inserting between two teeth of a mammal a length of dental floss comprising a plurality of multicomponent coextruded filaments coated with a bonding solution to bond said filaments.
