Abstract
A method for protecting concrete surfaces of sanitary sewers includes the steps of providing a concrete surface in a sanitary sewer environment; and coating the concrete surface with magnesium hydroxide or magnesium oxide.
Claims21
A corrosion resistant sewer, comprising:
- a concrete sewer line having an interior surface;
- and
- a magnesium oxide layer made substantially of magnesium oxide deposited on at least a portion of the interior surface.
A corrosion resistant sewer, comprising:
- a concrete sewer line having an interior surface;
- and
- a magnesium hydroxide layer made substantially of magnesium hydroxide deposited on at least a portion of the interior surface.
