Abstract
A sealing device for use in a motor. The motor, which maintains a shaft: and a frame that are interconnected by a bearing, includes a magnetic-fluid-seating device and a collecting device. The magnetic-fluid-sealing device seals the bearing with a magnetic fluid to prevent particles and fluids from escaping the bearing, whereas, the collecting device collects any particles and fluids which may escape the magnetic-fluid-sealing device.
Claims20
A sealing device for use in a motor, where said motor includes a shaft and a frame that are interconnected by a bearing, said sealing device comprising:
- magnetic-fluid-sealing means for sealing said bearing to prevent magnetic fluid retained by said bearing from escaping from said bearing;
- and
- a magnetic fluid absorption member for absorbing fluids which may escape said magnetic-fluid-sealing means, said magnetic fluid absorption member being held out of contact with said magnetic fluid retained by said bearing.
