A 1-phenyl-2-dimethylaminomethyl-cyclohexan-1-ol compound corresponding to formula I ##STR102## wherein X represents O or S,
- R.sup.1 represents H, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkenyl, C.sub.5-7 cycloalkyl, or halogenated C.sub.1-6 alkyl, the grouping ##STR103## represents ##STR104## and R.sup.2 represents C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkenyl, C.sub.5-7 cycloalkylmethyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, or substituted or unsubstituted benzyl,
- or a salt thereof with a physiologically acceptable acid.
