Thiouracil derivatives and metal surface-treating agent comprising thereof

An unsaturated thiouracil derivative represented by the following formula (1) or (2) ##STR49## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each are a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and at least one of R.sup.1 and

• R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, and
• R.sup.3 i s a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a phenyl group,
• R.sup.4 is a bivalent saturated hydrocarbon group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, or any group selected from the following formulae (III-2), (III-3) and (III-4) ##STR50## wherein n is an integer of 1 to 5, o and p each are an integer of 1 to 10, q is an integer of 1 to 5, and r and s each are an integer of 1 to 5,
• Z is a --COO-- group, a --CH.sub.2 O-- group or a ##STR51## group, and R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.

A metal surface-treating agent comprising an unsaturated thiouracil derivative which

• has at least at one terminal thereof an organic group (I) having a radical polymerizable unsaturated bond, and
• has at the other terminal the following thiouracil residue (II) ##STR52## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and at least one of R.sup.1 and
• R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, and
• R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a phenyl group,
• and
• wherein
• the organic group (I) and the thiouracil residue (II) are separated by a bivalent spacer residue containing at least 2 carbon atoms.

A metal surface-treating agent comprising an unsaturated thiouracil derivative represented by the following formula (1) or (2) ##STR56## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and at least one of R.sup.1 and

• R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, and
• R.sup.3 i s a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a phenyl group,
• R.sup.4 is a bivalent saturated hydrocarbonic group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, or any group selected from the following formulae (III-2), (111-3) and (III-4) ##STR57## wherein n is an integer of 1 to 5, o and p each are an integer of 1 to 10, q is an integer of 1 to 5, and r and s each are an integer of 1 to 5,
• Z is a --COO-- group, a --CH.sub.2 O-- group or a ##STR58## group, and R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
