A class of methods for impregnating zeolite crystals with one of: sodium chlorite, acetic acid, citric acid, chlorine, sodium sulfite, and sodium bisulfite. Also, the resulting zeolite crystals impregnated under this class of methods.

A zeolite crystal having channels uniformly impregnated with an impregnating agent, wherein the impregnating agent is sodium sulfite.
A zeolite crystal having channels uniformly impregnated with an impregnating agent, wherein the impregnating agent is sodium bisulfite.
