Disc cartridge loading device with lid lock detection switch

A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for a recording medium housed in a disc cartridge, comprising:

• a main body on which the disc cartridge is loaded,
• a lid rotatably mounted on said main body for opening and closing a loading device of the main body on which the disc cartridge is loaded,
• a lock member slidably mounted on one of the main body and the lid, and
• a locked part and a lid lock detection switch both mounted on the other of the main body and the lid,
• wherein said lock member is slidable relative to the one of the main body and the lid between a lock position and a lock release position such that when said lid is positioned in a locking position in a state of closing said loading device and said lock member is slid into said lock position, said lock member engages said locked part and engages said lid lock detection switch to actuate said switch, and when said lock member is moved to said lock release position, said lock member disengages from said locked part and disengages from its operation on said lid lock detection switch.
