Abstract
An oil-in-water nanoemulsion in which the oil globules have a mean size of less than 100 nm and which contains an amphiphilic lipid component containing at least one non-ionic amphiphilic lipid which is liquid at an ambient temperature of less than 45.degree. C. The nanoemulsion can be used in the fields of cosmetics and dermopharmaceuticals. The nanoemulsion is stable on storage, can contain significant amounts of oil while retaining good transparency, and can contain heat-sensitive active agents.
Claims24
An oil-in-water nanoemulsion comprising water, oil globules having a mean size of less than 100 nm dispersed in an aqueous phase and an amphiphilic lipid component situated at the oil/aqueous phase interface wherein the amphiphilic lipid component comprises at least one non-ionic amphiphilic lipid which is liquid at a temperature of less than 45.degree. C. and wherein the ratio by weight of the amount of oil to the amount of amphiphilic lipid component is from 3 to 10.
