The invention comprises a composition of matter containing a matrix, a plasticizer and pyriproxifen for controlling fleas.

A composition of matter which, in precentages of the weight of the total composition, comprises:
- a. from 10% to 90% matrix;
- b. from 5% to 40% plasticizer;
- c. from 0.001 to 0.04% pyriproxifen.
