Release layer for photoreceptors

A photoconductor element for liquid electrophotography comprising

• an electroconductive substrate,
• a photoconductive layer on one surface of the electroconductive substrate, and
• as an outerlayer over the photoconductive layer, a polymeric release layer having a surface roughness, Ra, greater than 10 nm, wherein the release layer consists essentially of particulate fillers and a primary material selected from the group consisting of fluoropolymers and silicones.

A photoconductor element for liquid electrophotography comprising

• an electroconductive substrate,
• a photoconductive layer on one surface of the electroconductive substrate, and
• as an outerlayer over the photoconductive layer, a polymeric release layer having a surface roughness, Ra, greater than 10 nm and less than 500 nm, wherein the release layer consists essentially of a material selected from fluoropolymers and silicones.
