Batteries, conductive compositions, and conductive films containing organic liquid electrolytes and plasticizers

An ion conductive composition having enhanced ambient temperature conductivity comprising:

• (a) a liquid electrolyte plasticizer having the structure ##STR26## wherein R.sup.a is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, --(CO)OR.sup.d, --(C.sub..rho. H.sub.2.rho.).sub..tau. --(OC.sub.2 R.sup.b.sub.4).sub..alpha. --OR.sup.d, ##STR27## and R.sup.b is independently selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, fluoro, and fluorinated lower alkyl,
• R.sup.c is alkylene or --(C.sub..rho. H.sub.2.rho.).sub..rho. --(OC.sub.2 R.sup.b.sub.4).sub..alpha. --m
• R.sup.d is H or alkyl,
• X is lower alkylene,
• Y is selected from the group consisting of H, aryl and alkyl,
• Z is selected from the group consisting of H and CH.sub.2 O(CO)OR.sup.a,
• .alpha., .gamma., l, .rho. and .tau. are integers in the range of 0 to 10 inclusive,
• .beta. is 0, 1 or 2,
• p is an integer in the ravage of 1 to 5 inclusive, and
• q is an integer in the range of 0 to 6 inclusive;
• and
• (b) an ion conductive material selected from the group a salt of the formula C-A, wherein C is a cation and A is an anion and a single-ion conducting polymer electrolyte.
