Abstract
The instant invention involves methods of treating sweat related conditions with compounds that are 5.alpha.-reductase inhibitors. The 5.alpha.-reductase inhibitors may be administered alone or in combination with other active agents to treat conditions such as apocrine gland sweating, hyperhidrosis, and hydradenitis suppurativa.
Claims16
A method of treating a condition selected from apocrine gland sweating, hyperhidrosis, and hydradenitis suppurativa comprising administering to a person in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a 5.alpha.-reductase inhibitor.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising
- (a) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier,
- (b) a therapeutically effective amount of a 5.alpha.-reductase inhibitor, and
- (c) a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from an antiperspirant, isotretinoin, and combinations thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising
- (a) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier,
- (b) a therapeutically effective amount of a 5.alpha.-reductase type 1 inhibitor, and a 5.alpha.-reductase type 2 inhibitor, and
- (c) a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from an antiperspirant, isotretinoin, and combinations thereof.
