A musical display system produces a display presentation in one of a plurality of formats from an original musical composition, the formats being created from the original musical composition responsive to input variables and a selected operating mode. The system is comprised of means to receive the original composition, a memory, a selection subsystem, a controller, and a display subsystem. The memory selectively stores the received original musical compositions. The selection subsystem determines a selected operating mode and display format. The controller, responsive to the selection subsystem, provides means for selectively controlling the storing of the original composition in memory and selectively altering the stored original composition responsive to the selected operating mode and the input variables to produce a particular one of a plurality of derivative musical compositions. At least one display subsystem provides for displaying a presentation of the particular one of the derivative compositions in the selected format responsive to the selected operating mode. The display system provides for selection of original compositions, creation of derivative compositions, distribution of compositions, monitoring of each performer's performance, and also allows for retrieval and editing of musical compositions, such as changing keys, pitch, tempo, and many other parameters. The music transformation system can have a central or distributed music database, which stores the scores of musical compositions, which can be transposed via a controller, and can be transmitted to workstations that display the scores for playing by musical instruments and for local presentation.
A musical display networked system for producing a display presentation, the system comprising:
A musical display networked music system for selectively creating derivative musical compositions, and monitoring user performance relative to a stored original musical composition, the system comprising:
A networked musical presentation system capable of individually and simultaneously displaying a plurality of individual musical scores relating to a common selected musical composition, each of the plurality of scores being correspondingly displayed for a selected corresponding one of a plurality of musical instrument types, the system comprising:
A method for presenting a music score presentable in at least one of a plurality of play modes, for display of a display presentation on at least one of a plurality of music display subsystems, said modes including a practice mode and a performance mode, the method comprising the steps of:
