Abstract
Disclosed is a hybrid recombinant protein consisting of human interferon, preferably interferon-.alpha. (IFN.alpha.), and human immunoglobulin Fc fragment, preferably .gamma.4 chain, joined by a peptide linker comprising the sequence Gly Gly Ser Gly Gly Ser Gly Gly Gly Gly Ser Gly Gly Gly Gly Ser (SEQ ID NO:1).
Claims4
A hybrid molecule comprising an interferon molecule joined at its C-terminal end through a peptide linker to the N-terminal end of a first gamma immunoglobulin Fc fragment, the peptide linker having the sequence Gly Gly Ser Gly Gly Ser Gly Gly Gly Gly Ser Gly Gly Gly Gly Ser (the peptide of SEQ ID NO:1), the hybrid molecule having a specific activity of at least 1.1.times.10.sup.9 IU/.mu.mole as measured by a virus cytopathic effect inhibition assay.
