## Abstract

Cis-9-heptadecenoic acid or its salts can be used for the prophylaxis and treatment of psoriasis, allergies and autoimmune diseases.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating psoriasis and allergies which comprises administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a composition consisting essentially of cis-9-heptadecenoic acid or a salt thereof, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and optionally an antioxidant.

The method according to claim 1, wherein the treatment is for control of psoriasis or atopy.
