## Abstract

Disclosed herein is a method for producing antibodies against an antigen of interest. Animal cells are exposed to both the antigen of interest and a recombinant retroviral vector. The vector contains a combination of oncogenes capable of inducing plasmacytomas. Plasmacytoma formation takes place rapidly and takes place in the presence of the antigen. A very high proportion of the plasmacytomas that are recovered are antigen specific.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for production of antibodies against a specified antigen, the method comprising:
immunizing a first murine host with an antigen to create immune responding B cells in the host;
removing the immune responding B cells from the first murine host;
transforming the immune responding B cells in vitro by introducing a vector comprising a myc oncogene and a vector comprising an abl oncogene into the cells; and
injecting the transformed cells into a second murine host in which the transformed cells can become established to form a plasmacytoma that produces antibodies against said antigen.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the myc oncogene is c-myc and the abl oncogene is v-abl.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first murine host is injected with pristane following immunization.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the oncogenes are contained on the same retroviral vector.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the second murine host is injected with pristane prior to infecting said transformed cells into said second murine host.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the B cells are spleen cells.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the myc oncogene and the abl oncogene are introduced using a retroviral vector.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the myc oncogene and the abl oncogene are on a single recombinant vector.
