## Abstract

Human tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) is produced in useful quantities using recombinant DNA techniques. The invention disclosed thus enables the production of t-PA free of contaminants with which it is ordinarily associated in its native cellular environment. Methods, expression vehicles and various host cells useful in its production are also disclosed.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A DNA molecule which is a cDNA molecule or a recombinant DNA molecule encoding an amino acid sequence comprising the presequence of human tissue plasminogen activator.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A DNA molecule according to claim 1 operably linked to a DNA sequence encoding a tissue plasminogen activator.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A process comprising the step of expressing the DNA according to claim 1.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The process according to claim 3 wherein said expression is conducted in a transfected Chinese hamster ovary cell line.
