Abstract
A package for an optoelectronic device comprising: a substrate, an optical fiber disposed on the substrate, a ferrule for receiving the optical fiber and having a substantially flat surface for mounting the substrate; a housing member having a first end and a second end. The ferrule is disposed in the first end and a plug member is disposed in the second end of the housing.
Claims5
A package for an optoelectronic device, comprising:
- a substrate having an optical fiber disposed thereon and in optical communication with an optoelectronic device mounted on said substrate;
- a ferrule having said optical fiber mounted therein and a substantially flat surface at one end of said ferrule, said substrate mounted on said substantially flat surface;
- a plug member, said plug member having electrical leads disposed therein;
- and
- a housing member having a first end into which said ferrule is disposed and a second end to which said plug member is disposed.
