Claims16
A method of treating bone tissue loss or osteoporosis in a patient, comprising administering an effective antiosteoporosis amount of a compound of the formula ##STR49## wherein A is a radical of the formula ##STR50## wherein R and R.sub.1 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- and
- G is HN, H.sub.3 CN, CH.sub.2, or O;
- m is an integer from 4 to 12;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, halogen, or hydroxy;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, halogen, hydroxy, or --Y(CH.sub.2).sub.p A.sub.1 in which A.sub.1 is a radical of the formula ##STR51## wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- G.sub.1 is HN, H.sub.3 CN, CH.sub.2, or O;
- and
- p is an integer from 4 to 12;
- X is chloro or bromo;
- Y is O or NH;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A method of treating bone tissue loss or osteoporosis in a patient, comprising administering an effective antiosteoporosis amount of a compound of the formula ##STR53## wherein A is a radical of the formula ##STR54## wherein R and R.sub.1 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- and
- G is HN, H.sub.3 CN, CH.sub.2, or O;
- m is an integer from 4 to 12;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, halogen, or hydroxy;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, halogen, hydroxy, or --Y(CH.sub.2).sub.p A.sub.1 in which A.sub.1 is a radical of the formula ##STR55## wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- G.sub.1 is HN, H.sub.3 CN, CH.sub.2, or O;
- and
- p is an integer from 4 to 12;
- X is chloro or bromo;
- Y is O or NH;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
