Abstract
Heterocyclylcarbonyl substituted benzofuranyl- and thiophenyl-alkanecarboxylic acid derivatives are prepared by reacting appropriately substituted hydroxybenzene butanoic acid esters with heterocyclic ketones. The inventive compounds can be used for the preparation of medicaments, particularly of medicaments for the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic inflammatory processes.

A heterocyclylcarbonyl substituted benzofuranyl-alkanecarboxylic acid derivative of the formula ##STR40## wherein R.sup.1 represents chlorine or a group of a formula --OR.sup.3
- in which
- R.sup.3 denotes hydrogen, tetrahydropyranyl, acetyl or denotes straight-chain or branched alkyl or alkenyl each having up to 8 carbon atoms, and each of which is substituted by alkoxycarbonyl having up to 6 carbon atoms,
- or alkyl is substituted by a group of formula --CO--NH.sub.2
- V represents alkylene having 2 to 8 carbon atoms,
- W represents a group of formula --CO--R.sup.7
- in which
- R.sup.7 denotes hydroxyl or straight-chain or branched alkoxy having up to 8 carbon atoms,
- and
- R.sup.2 represents pyridyl, thienyl, 1,3-thiazolyl or benzob!thiophenyl, which are optionally monosubstituted to trisubstituted by identical or different substituents from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl having up to 8 carbon atoms, NH.sub.2 or SO.sub.2 --C.sub.6 H.sub.5.
