Abstract
The present invention concerns the use of Linomide.RTM. or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of retrovirus infections. Specifically the invention concerns the treatment of HIV infections.

A method for treating a mammal infected with a retrovirus which comprises administering to a mammal in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of N-phenyl-N-methyl-1,2-dihydro-4-hydroxy-1-methyl-2-oxo-quinoline-3-carboxa mide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A method for treating a patient infected with an HIV virus comprising administering to a patient in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of N-phenyl-N-methyl-1,2-dihydro-4-hydroxy-1-methyl-2-oxo-quinoline-3-carboxa mide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
A method for treating a patient suffering from AIDS or AIDS related complex which comprises administering to a patient in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of N-phenyl-N-methyl-1,2-dihydro-4-hydroxy-1-methyl-2-oxo-quinoline-3-carboxa mide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
