Abstract
The present invention includes the identification and isolation of a nucleic acid molecule encoding a dibasic amino acid processing endoprotease from CD4+ T-lymphocytes as well as a protein encoded by that nucleic acid molecule. The present invention also includes related nucleic acid molecules and proteins encoded by such nucleic acid molecules as well as recombinant molecules and recombinant cells that include nucleic acid molecules of the present invention. The present invention also includes use of such nucleic acid molecules and proteins to develop therapeutic compositions that enhance or inhibit dibasic amino acid processing endoprotease activity.
Claims27
An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a dibasic amino acid processing endoprotease gene nhTCP and nucleic acid molecules comprising fragments thereof that encode a dibasic amino acid processing endoprotease having proteolytic activity.
An isolated nucleic acid molecule selected from the group consisting of a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence having at least about 86 percent nucleic acid sequence identity with SEQ ID NO:1, a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence having at least about 93 percent nucleic acid sequence identity with SEQ ID NO:3, a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence having at least about 86 percent nucleic acid sequence identity with SEQ ID NO:12 and a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence having at least about 86 percent nucleic acid sequence identity with SEQ ID NO:14.
An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid molecule selected from the group consisting of nhTCp483, nhTCP.sub..about.2400 and nhTCP.
A recombinant cell comprising a cell transformed with a first nucleic acid molecule capable of hybridizing, under stringent conditions, with a dibasic amino acid processing endoprotease gene comprising nhTCP, wherein said cell is capable of expressing said first nucleic acid molecule.
